Department Description

Sciences, Agriculture, and Engineering (SAgE) was formed by combining liaison librarians from the former Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) and Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Sciences (ABES) departments. SAgE librarians work with students, faculty, staff, and research teams in the College of Biological Sciences; College of Continuing & Professional Studies; College of Extension; College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences; College of Science & Engineering; and three schools within the College of Education & Human Development. They also perform outreach beyond the university through community outreach, connecting to the public and researchers nationwide.

Researchers in our colleges are active, heavy users of many Libraries services such as data management and curation, research information management (RIM), and systematic reviews. Bringing the science librarians together helps in identifying and supporting emerging research needs in a wide range of disciplinary areas. SAgE supports researchers through reference and consultation services, collections and scholarly communications expertise, and a diverse and targeted set of research services. SAgE works closely with Open Research & Publishing and other groups to meet researcher needs.

SAgE supports students in these colleges through course-integrated instruction, reference and consultation services, collection development and resource expertise, and targeted skill-building workshops and outreach activities. SAgE also works closely with Student Experience, Learning, and Accessibility (SELA), Open Research & Publishing, and other groups to advance student success.
