Technology Support & Consultation (TSC)

What we do / Mission

The Libraries’ Technology Support & Consultation unit provides robust, secure, and productive technology support by maximizing the availability of core computing, networking services, and provides consultation for relevant technologies to all Libraries staff and patrons which in turn directly supports their educational, research, and administrative needs.

Goals/Overview

The Technology Support & Consultation unit provides systems and services to support the personal computing and networking needs of all Libraries staff and in-library patrons throughout most campus library locations. Example of our work include:

  • Supporting the Libraries-specific needs for business & personal computing (e.g., WebDocs leadership for Google Drive & Sites, Cybrarian, DUO, etc.)
  • Supporting the integration of emerging technology-in-spaces (e.g., video conferencing, presentations using Zoom, recording presentations, large displays, 3D printing, etc.)
  • Providing consultation for relevant technologies (e.g., computing hardware both business and personal, software suites, packages, and plugins, etc.)
  • Participating in the development of user training processes and programs
  • Providing local network administration and consultation (including wireless) for the Libraries' staff and systems
