Project Management

Event support

  • FOM provides support for internal and external Libraries events by assisting with permits, ordering food and supplies, coordinating with vendors and outside services as needed, and arranging for additional waste collection and cleaning services.
  • Building managers are experienced at working with event planners to evaluate potential event spaces for proposed use, furniture layouts, occupancy, technology needs, signage, and accessibility.

Project management and support

  • FOM provides project management and support services to large projects within the libraries, such as collections moves, large-scale staff and department moves, building repair after major floods, etc.
  • FOM coordinates with non-libraries departments such as other colleges, FM/U Construction, Capital Project Management, etc, to support library needs during major construction projects. For instance, this can involve coordinating and executing moving people and collections, negotiating timelines, or coordinating access while maintaining building security.

Space design, construction, and remodeling

  • FOM has the training and tools to design, plan, and execute smaller scale changes to offices, public spaces, stacks, and storage areas.
  • For larger projects, FOM will work with FM or UConstruction to develop a plan and a preliminary budget for requestors. Please note that larger scale project may require an EFS number to pay for initial designing services.
