Library Data & Student Success

The Library Data & Student Success team (LDSS) began its work in 2011 with a goal of determining whether there were correlations between library use and student success factors. Working closely with the Office of Institutional Research, we were able to show strong correlations to higher GPA, higher retention rate, and higher scores in Scholarship and Academic Engagement as measured by the Student Experience in a Research University (SERU) survey. Different aspects of that work have been published in several articles, group members have presented at numerous conferences, and the work is being used as a model at other institutions.
