P&A Senate

Voting Eligibility: Academic staff professionals, administrators (P&A) in each college, administrative unit and coordinate campus. 

Per the  University Senate Constitution, Article 6, Section 2.c: "For the purposes of this constitution, the bylaws, and the rules, and to be eligible to be elected to the P&A Senate, the term "P&A" shall mean Academic Professional and Administrative Staff as defined by the Regents' Policy "Employee Group Definition" who have been at the University for six months or more and hold 50 percent time or greater appointments."

This is a three (3) year term.

University Governance Committees

University Senate

Voting  and Service Eligibility: Academic professionals as indicated in the University Senate Constitution, Article 4, Section 2.d: “For the purposes of this constitution, the bylaws, and the rules, the term "qualified academic staff" shall mean individuals who (1) hold full-time appointments as academic professionals, (2) have faculty-like responsibilities with a primary focus on teaching or research, and (3) have probationary/continuous appointments or have completed five years of service at the University.” Further, "For the purposes of this constitution, the bylaws, and the rules, "full-time appointments" are defined as requiring at least 67% time."

University Libraries Academic Professional and Administrative Committee

Guidelines

Voting and Service Eligibility: The University Libraries Academic Professional and Administrative Committee  represents all P & A appointees in the 93xx and 97xx classes.

P&A Staff in the 9715, 9714, and 9713 job codes, including Minitex

Librarian Committee 

Guidelines

Voting and Service Eligibility: The Librarian Committee represents all Academic Professional appointees in the 97xx classes who hold the positions of Assistant Librarian (9715), Associate Librarian (9714), and Librarian (9713), in either the continuous appointment or annual renewable tracks.

No minimum % time

Other Constituencies

Staff members of the University of Minnesota Libraries, Twin Cities Campus, who hold positions represented by bargaining units may attend meetings of the Library Assembly and may speak as allowed by union contracts, but may not vote. The Library Assembly may invite bargaining unit staff members to serve on committees as allowed by union contracts.

Staff members of the Law Library, Sevareid Library, University of Minnesota coordinate campus libraries, and Senate Library Committee members may attend University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus Library Assembly meetings and may speak on any issue, but may not vote.

University of Minnesota students in good standing may be appointed to Library Assembly committees as appropriate.
