Governance

The University of Minnesota Libraries, Twin Cities, is dedicated to supporting the goals and missions of the University and its various departments in the areas of teaching, research, and service, as reflected in the Libraries mission statement. It is the purpose of this constitution to foster an active, informed staff, and to promote open communication among academic staff (faculty, professional, and administrative), civil service staff, and bargaining unit staff. Toward this end, the constitution provides a democratic framework in which are defined the roles of its academic and civil service staff in initiating recommendations, formulating decisions, and communicating the basis for decisions to those affected.
