Who We Are
The Information Access & Delivery Services (IADS) department provides efficient, effective, and innovative access to and delivery of information and materials to users in pursuit of knowledge, educational goals, research, teaching and scholarship.
The IADS Department collaborates with units throughout the University of Minnesota Libraries to connect users with resources in a manner consistent with the programmatic needs of the University and the Libraries.
The IADS Department is composed of over twenty service points within the University Libraries and is spread across the University’s East Bank, West Bank and St. Paul Campuses. Each Service Point offers direct service to library patrons within the following functional areas: Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan Services, Circulation Services including Aleph System Support, Information Desk Services, Borrowing Privileges and Fines, Course Reserve, Photocopy Services, Stack Services and Binding. The IADS Department has approximately 42 FTE staff and is responsible for an annual student staffing (401) budget of approximately $553,000.
The IADS Department is part of the Libraries Access Services Division along with the Libraries Technical Services and Facilities Management Departments. Together we support the needs of the Library users in areas for which Access Services has primacy.
