Libraries Key and U-card Access
All new Library staff must contact FOM for key or U-Card accessFOM Building Managers and Geographic Facilitators are the Building Key Controllers. In that role, FOM members are responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate records of the assignment of every building key and U-Card access
On the departure from the University Libraries of an individual staff member, it is the responsibility of the supervisor to notify FOM of the pending departure and to notify the staff person they must turn in their keys and be certain that the keys are returned to the building office and the U-Card access deleted.
FOM is responsible for authorizing all requests for additional keys and U-Card access for the building and for authorizing all key change requests. Key change requests may be sufficiently complex as to need consultation with the FOM Geographic Facilitator.
Libraries Building Access Policy
June 2006
All staff who work in Wilson, Walter, Andersen, and Magrath Libraries will have access granted via the key-card system to enter the buildings 6:00 AM - 12:00 midnight seven days a week. Staff members, with selected exceptions, should not be in these buildings between midnight and 6:00 AM. (Exceptions will be made for FOM, IT, AULs, and UL. All members of LLC will have 24/7 access to the buildings in which they work.)
If staff members enter or exit Wilson, Walter, Andersen, or Magrath outside of hours the building is open to the public, they must swipe their own U-Card at all times--for safety and security purposes. Do not permit anyone else to enter without swiping his/her own card.
